Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a complicated disorder in which a person suffers from extreme fatigue that lasts for at least six months and can’t be explained by underlying medical conditions. The fatigue (tiredness) may worsen with physical or mental activity and doesn’t improve with rest.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome may be due to bacterial infections such as pneumonia, immune system problems, mental health disorder, such as; stress and depression.

There is no proper test for diagnosing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, our professionals make a diagnosis by eliminating all the probable illnesses if a person has had symptoms for at least six months. The routine medical tests would be normal, but additional tests would show abnormalities.

The symptoms of the disorder include; chronic tiredness headaches, sleepiness, sore muscles, dizziness, slowed reflexes, and moodiness. Usually, the people who are diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, exercise therapy, or both by our healthcare professionals. They may also prescribe over-the-counter pain-relievers.
