Currently, we have medical providers licensed to offer healthcare services and prescribe medications online in the following states: California (CA), Colorado (CO), Florida (FL), Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), Maine (ME), Michigan (MI), New York (NY), North Carolina (NC), Ohio (OH), Oregon (OR), Pennsylvania (PA), Texas (TX), Virginia (VA), Vermont (VT), Washington (WA), Wisconsin (WI).
At MEDvidi, you can see a healthcare provider online for a variety of mental health conditions. The treatment process includes the following steps:
  • Step 1. Sign up and reserve an appointment time. Create an account and fill out the basic personal information and the Intake form. Reserve the date and time for your appointment by choosing a time slot and making a payment. Note that the reserved appointment time is not final, and you may be offered other options at the next step.
  • Step 2. Confirm the appointment date and time. The Care Team will process your Intake form and complete a PDMP (prescription drug monitoring program) verification. Once all the verifications are successful, a support agent will contact you to confirm the time and date of your upcoming appointment.
  • Step 3. Initial video visit. See a licensed healthcare provider who will assess your symptoms, review your health history, and create a personalized treatment plan.
  • Step 4. Follow-ups. Connect with your provider regularly to track your progress, refill your prescriptions, and discuss any questions related to the treatment process.
Medical providers at MEDvidi are Medical Doctors (MD), Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PHNP), and Physician Assistants (PA). They are certified to diagnose and treat mental health conditions as well as prescribe medications online, including controlled substances.

Currently, medical practitioners at MEDvidi do not provide disability letters.

Appointments

The initial appointment lasts for 30 minutes. It includes a comprehensive evaluation by a healthcare provider and the implementation of a personalized treatment plan.

Follow-up visits are 15 minutes in length and allow you and your doctor to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan if needed.

An ADHD diagnosis requires one appointment with a clinician, which includes a mental status exam, meeting ADHD diagnostic criteria, and completing assessment forms during the appointment.
A treatment plan will include suggestions for lifestyle changes, possibly medications as well as referrals to other treatment modalities like psychotherapy.
Many conditions require multiple appointments over an extended period of time. However, we have no subscription model. At the end of your visit, you may book a future appointment with your provider for continuity of care and management of your condition. However, you may book one appointment at a time. The needed duration of treatment is determined by your provider and your response to your individualized treatment plan.

Prescription

No, obtaining a prescription is only possible after having a video appointment with a healthcare provider and completing a thorough assessment. Prior to the appointment, make sure to provide an approved photo ID, complete an intake and medical history form, complete a medication and substance form, provide insurance ID if applicable, and other necessary mental health screening forms.

Note that booking an appointment does not guarantee receiving a prescription because it is the sole discretion of the provider to choose the most appropriate treatment option based on the diagnosis and health history.

Healthcare providers at MEDvidi can legally prescribe a variety of medications for numerous conditions: ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, and other mental health related conditions. The medications that may be prescribed include non-scheduled and Schedule II-V medicines. Note that the necessity for prescribing any medication is determined by your provider after a thorough evaluation of your symptoms, health history, and other factors.

No. Prescribing a medication is up to your healthcare provider and that is based upon their clinical judgment after a synchronous visit has occurred. Elements of that visit include an initial assessment, a review of health history, and individual needs.

We understand that you may have expectations regarding specific treatments, and our medical team will consider your request. However, being responsible for prescribing the most appropriate medication, your clinician may define another option as safer and potentially more effective.

We carefully select medical providers, making sure they are experienced and qualified to treat a range of mental health conditions. But sometimes, finding the right medication requires trial and adjustment. So, if you feel your current medication isn’t working, discuss this openly with your healthcare provider.

Yes, it is possible to be prescribed ADHD medication while undergoing Suboxone treatment. However, because of safety concerns, patients must provide a letter from their clinician indicating that it is safe and appropriate for them to receive stimulant ADHD medication.

If you are currently taking or weaning off Suboxone, healthcare providers at MEDvidi can prescribe you ADHD medication only after obtaining the above-mentioned letter.

In general, over 50% of the treatment of mental health conditions involves medication, especially at the beginning stages of treatment. However, based on a detailed assessment, your healthcare provider may suggest non-medication options.
Our medical providers can prescribe Schedule II medications when required, and this is based upon the initial assessment, the patient’s health status, and other individual circumstances.
Established patients may receive urgent prescription refills without seeing a provider in particular cases (excluding controlled substances), but the final decision is up to a healthcare provider, and an appointment may be needed.
The option of providing a post-dated prescription depends on the state regulations, the condition treated, the specific medication being prescribed, and other factors. The possibility may be considered for long-term, stable patients who have been regularly monitored and have all necessary documentation. The decision is at the discretion of your healthcare provider.
It depends on the condition and a particular prescribed medication. Some medications start working in 30 minutes and some take weeks to reach full effectiveness. Note that there is no cure or rapid improvement for many mental health conditions, and the effectiveness of the same medication can vary among patients. Note that the medication may start working even if you experience side effects; your healthcare provider will discuss the most common side effects with you during the appointment. Side effects may occur even when you take medication as prescribed. Don’t stop the medication abruptly before consulting with a healthcare provider, and follow their instructions.

In most cases, you must be in your state of residence at the time of a visit in order for an official visit to occur, and that provider must be licensed in your state of residence. Contact our Care Team at (504) 414-5095 or help@medvidi.com if you plan to travel outside of your state or discuss it beforehand with your healthcare provider to learn how to organize your treatment during that time.

No, we don’t ask for any extra fees. You only pay for an appointment.

You can get a prescription refill even if you don’t have insurance.

Currently, MEDvidi doesn’t accept insurance. We work on collaborating with several insurance providers and we will notify our patients once this option becomes available. Thank you for your understanding. Feel free to contact our Care Team at (504) 414-5095 or help@medvidi.com for more information.

DEA Update

According to the information from the DEA, several changes in prescribing controlled substances through telehealth should have become valid on November 11, 2023. However, as per the latest update from the DEA, current rules have been extended until December 31, 2024. So, patients can continue receiving online prescriptions without the need to see their healthcare providers in person.

The new regulation will affect those who begin their online treatment after December 31, 2024. However, the DEA is reviewing what their future policy will incorporate.

Controlled substances are medications and other substances with high risk or potential for abuse and addiction. Because of that, the government controls their distribution and delivery.

Several medications for the treatment of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), depression, anxiety disorders, insomnia, and other conditions fall under the category of controlled substances.
